Planning a holiday is an experience full of excitement... right up until the point you have to pack your bags. For me, packing is one of my least favorite activities in the world (dramatic I know). You might be wondering what this has to do with a fashion blog, but roll with it...
When you're packing you have to carefully make a selection of your favorite things to take away with you - that's where I always struggle, I find it difficult to narrow down my options because I believe you never know what you might need. It's difficult to admit, but I think you might call me a low-key hoarder. So, I've decided to start myself on a path to a more minimalist lifestyle. Sorry, I know minimal is a 2019 buzzword since came out Marie Kondo on Netflix, but we're all easily inspired.
I once mentioned this quintessential first-world problem to a friend and told me more about the 10x10 challenge. This is where you challenge yourself to only wearing 10 pieces of fashion (defined however you please) for the next 10 days. So, I took you on a random journey to understand why I loathe packing mainly to highlight how difficult I anticipate this challenge would be, not because I was limited by out my outfit choices, but because it feels like being forced to permanently pack - that's why it's called a challenge!
I thought if I was going to go through this experience I thought it might be interesting to see whether I could get a group of fashion editors to try the same. Stay tuned as my colleagues and I embark on a challenge of making 10 pieces of fashion work for the next 10 days.
Also, so you know, it's currently snowing - wishing I'd had this conversation during the summer.
